For Teens/Young Adults and Their Families

Now is the time for families to prepare for the transition from school into adulthood. What will your loved one do after high school? Where do they want to work?  Where will they live? What kind of care will they need and who will provide it? What friends and recreation activities will they do? This can be a very overwhelming time. We can help you through it by providing information, helping you navigate the various resources, and connecting you with families who have been there.

The Arc of King County provides specialized services and activities in English, Spanish, and specifically for African American families. For other languages, we utilize interpreters.

Looking for resources or support?

The Arc of King County is the hub of information regarding local resources and support in King county.  We help families identify, connect with, navigate, and utilize community resources such as:

We provide one-on-one consultation by phone, email, or in-person meetings, as well as offer workshops on various topics throughout the year.  Check out our Resource Guide and Community Calendar

Want to Connect with Other Families?

Our Parent to Parent (P2P) program believes that often the most valuable form of support comes from other parents who have traveled the road before you. We understand the emotions, myths, and realities of parenting a child with a disability. We don’t necessarily solve a family’s problem, but we are willing to listen and share our own experiences.  Check out more details about our Parent to Parent Program here

Want to make the word a better place for people with disabilities?

Our advocacy program provides civic engagement support, classes, and issue education.
